We are currently hiring with immediate openings for the following positions:

  • CDL Drivers with “P” endorsements
  • Maintenance and Utility Staff
    • Full time, part time, and seasonal opportunities available!
    • These positions are typically scheduled Saturdays and late afternoon/evenings Monday-Friday.
  • Intake and Dispatch representatives who are detail-oriented, patient and personable, comfortable working on computers and able to handle an exceptionally fast-paced and high-pressure work environment.
  • Drivers with a Class C License – to transport passengers in Class C vehicles.

Western Maine regularly seeks qualified applicants for the following types of positions:

Drivers…with a preference for drivers with Maine class “B” or “A” licenses with “P” and air brake endorsements, a year or more of experience driving passengers and a clean driving record for the past 5 years.

ASE-certified Mechanics…with Diesel, air brake, multiplexed electrical control and advanced electronic-actuated transmission experience.

Telephone Passenger Relations Representatives…who are detail-oriented, patient and personable, comfortable working on computers and able to handle an exceptionally fast-paced and high-pressure work environment.

Volunteer!

If you enjoy driving, have a dependable vehicle, a good driving record, if you like to help people who truly need your assistance, then please consider becoming a volunteer driver.

As a volunteer, you will be paid a mileage reimbursement rate for the distance traveled from the time you leave your home to the time you return from your trip, in accordance with Maine DHHS guidelines. Also, as a volunteer, your mileage reimbursement is tax-free up to a federally-mandated threshold. Supplemental accident and life insurance cover you while you are driving as a volunteer.

In order to qualify drivers must:
• Possess a valid, current driver’s license, appropriate to the class of vehicle driven, without restrictions
• Pass a background check* through the Maine State Bureau Investigation
• Pass a Maine Department of Motor Vehicle record check*, and have no Operating Under the Influence (O.U.I.) convictions within the last 3 years
• Agree to be trained for child-seat safety and DHHS child transportation standards*
• Own a currently registered, currently inspected, dependable vehicle
• Provide proof of at least the minimum State-required insurance
• Be reliable on-time and enjoy driving
